Tall Tail Llama Ranch and Fiber Arts, llc is excited to offer both quality llamas and products produced from their exquisite fiber. We, Rob and Jill Knuckles, have been raising llamas since 1995. Our vision has been to focus on breeding exceptional llamas with sound conformation, outstanding dispositions and fine fleece that will produce superior yarn and roving desired by knitters, weavers, spinners, and all fiber artists.

What We Do
Our breeding program allows us to offer not only outstanding llamas but also exceptional products produced from their fine fleece. Breeding majestic and versatile llamas of outstanding genetics ensures sound confirmation, great temperaments, and exquisite fiber.
We breed for a variety of fiber types including silky, suri, and huacaya types. Our Suri and silky llamas produce a very fine, luxurious fiber with a longer staple, outstanding luster, and minimal crimp that produces a yarn suitable for elegant knit and woven wear with a flowing and drapey appearance. Our huacaya fiber type llamas produce a very fine dense and crimped fleece that produces a loftier yarn which provides excellent insulation.
To bring you exceptional products, we personally shear our llamas every spring. Each llama fleece is carefully cleaned and sorted before the processing begins.
After careful selection and blending, the fleeces are processed using small custom mills which helps us ensure we are providing a sustainable product without the use of harsh chemicals and processing techniques. In addition, we find the small custom mills provide extra care and individual attention in processing our fleece into the very best yarn and roving. We continuously analyze our fleeces, blends, and processes to ensure we meet our commitment to excellence and provide a superior product.
