Natural Yarn
We carefully select and blend our llama fleece to bring out the best characteristics of the fiber. We strive to provide a very high-quality yarn in a variety of weights and blends. We offer 100% llama yarn as well as blends with silk, merino, and other fine natural fibers. Llamas come in a wide array of natural colors, which allows us to offer a full pallet of 100% all-natural yarn. Llama yarn is very soft and warm. Each fleece is cleaned prior to processing, however no harsh chemicals are used, so some minimal vegetable matter may be present.
Hand Dyed Yarn
Our dyed yarns begin as 100% natural llama yarn and llama yarn blends with silk, merino, and other natural fibers. Using environmentally friendly dyes, we dye in small batches to create unique hand-dyed yarns. Keeping careful notes about the dying process allows us to repeat our colors and patterns. However, each dye lot can still be unique in relation to tones and distribution of color. We do our best to ensure the consistency of each batch, unfortunately, it is hard to avoid slight differences between them.
Roving
Eager to jump into your next spinning project? Our beautiful 100% llama and llama / natural fiber blend pencil roving is here for you. Our roving is very fine to the hand with incredible luster, thus creating beautiful hand spun yarns. Roving appropriate for felting will be noted. This roving will typically include llama fiber and blends with greater crimp. Each fleece is cleaned prior to processing, however no harsh chemicals are used, so some minimal vegetable matter may be present. This will typically fall from the roving when working.
Hats & Scarves
Our hats and scarves are carefully handcrafted from our llama yarn and llama yarn blends. Each is unique and one-of-a-kind. Traditional techniques of crocheting, weaving, knitting, and felting are used. Yarns are selected to enhance the characteristics of the product.
Ponchos & Shawls
We offer beautiful handwoven ponchos and shawls handcrafted from our llama yarn and llama yarn blends. Warm, yet light weight and versatile.
Hand Woven Rugs
These distinct area rugs are hand-loomed from Tall Tail Ranch llama fiber. The llama fiber is spun around a jute core, which gives the rug years of durable wear. This unique hand-woven rug, with European-like texture, shows occasional unevenness and nubs, which give each rug its unique one-of-a-kind look. These beautiful area rugs can be used throughout the house and are guaranteed to be warm and soft under foot.
